Cookie Policy

What we use

KAK Digital uses a single first-party analytics cookie (_kak_vid) plus a few session-scoped identifiers in your browser's sessionStorage. We do not load Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any other third-party advertising cookies on this marketing site.

The specific cookies + storage we set

  • _kak_vid (cookie, up to 2 years) — cross-subdomain visitor ID. Only set when you grant "marketing" consent. Purpose: recognize returning visitors across kakdigital.com and admin.kakdigital.com. Data stored: a random UUID, no PII.
  • _kak_vid_s (sessionStorage, per tab) — ephemeral session visitor ID used when you have not granted marketing consent. Wiped when you close the tab.
  • _kak_sid (sessionStorage, per tab) — per-session identifier. Wiped when you close the tab.
  • kak_c (localStorage) — your consent choice. No personal data, just the strings "analytics: true/false".
  • kak_entry, kak_pc, kak_ref, kak_h (sessionStorage / localStorage) — attribution + UI state. No personal data.

Legal basis

In the EU, UK, and Switzerland, we rely on your consent for analytics and marketing cookies. You can accept or reject at any time using the banner at the bottom of the page. Outside those regions, we rely on legitimate interest for first-party analytics only — no third-party cookies, no cross-site tracking — and you can still opt out via the banner or by clearing kak_c from your browser.

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser sends GPC, we treat that as an opt-out from all non-essential storage, everywhere.

What we don't use

  • No Google Analytics, Google Ads, or Google Tag Manager on this website.
  • No Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any ad-network cookies.
  • No session recording (no Hotjar, FullStory, Clarity, LogRocket, Mouseflow, etc.).
  • No cross-site tracking beyond kakdigital.com subdomains.

Note: our product (KAK Cortex) is a marketing-intelligence platform that, when deployed on a client's own Shopify store, does track visitor behavior and fire Meta CAPI events. That product is separate from this marketing site and has its own consent framework per-client — see our Privacy Policy for details.
